What is the BodyTalk System?

BodyTalk is a holistic, non-invasive system that facilitates the body’s ability to heal itself. BodyTalk (1) identifies the areas in the body where there are imbalances and (2) fixes these imbalances using a series of taps on the head and the heart.

What is the significance of tapping the head and the heart?

Tapping the head tells the brain to repair the imbalances highlighted by the neuromuscular feedback. Tapping the sternum or heart ensures that the changes are stored throughout the whole body.

What will I feel during a session?

There are different reactions that could happen in a session. Reactions may range from no physical sensations at all to slight pain on the part being balanced. The pain, however, is temporary as the bodymind is adjusting with the new communication links. The practitioner's attention must be called in case of painful reactions. Gurgling in the stomach, yawning and falling asleep during the session are more typical reactions.

What are the side effects after a session?

All side effects are beneficial to one's body. The feelings of calmness, sleepiness, thirst and fatigue most commonly take place after a session. It is in the state of being relaxed that the body can start fixing the broken communication links in the body. Thirst is the body’s way of asking the client to drink more clean water to help flush out toxins from the body.

How long is a session?

The length of a session varies each time, but it is typically between 15 minutes and 1 hour.

What is a distant session?

A Distant Session simply means that the practitioner and client are physically separated by a few feet to several miles during a BodyTalk session.

Is a distant session less effective compared to a regular BodyTalk session?

Physical separation does not compromise the integrity and efficiency of a session.  Both distant and regular sessions produce the same results. Just as with a regular session, a distant session can only take place when the client gives permission for a distant session.

Is BodyTalk safe with other medications and treatments?

BodyTalk may be used as a stand-alone system and may be complementary with whatever treatments and medications a client has. It is designed to increase their effectivity and to promote faster healing.

Who can get a session?

Anyone can! People of all ages can get a session. Pregnant women and the baby in the womb can get a session as well.

How much does a session cost?

Each session is CAD89 + tax

How often should I get sessions?

There is no set rule on how often a person should get a session. The number of sessions would depend on the individual’s needs. Some may see a significant improvement after just one session, while others would need more. After assessing through neuromuscular feedback, the practitioner can determine how soon the next session would be.

What is the history of the BodyTalk System?

The BodyTalk System was created by Dr. John Veltheim. Dr. Veltheim is an Australian chiropractor, acupuncturist, philosopher, martial arts instructor, author and teacher. He had a very busy practice as a chiropractor and acupuncturist. Due to his high-volume practice, his health caught up with him and was later diagnosed with Epstein-Barr virus. He tried everything under the sun but just couldn’t shake off the virus until he encountered Dr. Tracy Livingston. Dr. Livingston took a sample of his blood, applied it to his navel and started tapping his head. That was it. He went home and three days later, he was cleared of the virus. Since then, he has dedicated his time in developing BodyTalk and teaching it all over the world. BodyTalk was initially dubbed as “acupuncture without needles”.

What is innate wisdom?

It is that aspect in us which is responsible for all parts of our bodymind to work in synchronicity or in harmony.

An example of innate wisdom at work would be when we get a wound, our body just knows how to heal that wound without our consciously telling our brain what to do each step of the way.
